NEW
v2.5 8 September 2026
  • Discogs enrichment now correctly matches compilation and Various Artists albums. Previously, albums with no artist set could not score above the review threshold because the artist comparison returned zero. The scoring now uses title-only matching for VA albums, so strong title matches are auto-linked and near-misses appear in the review queue as expected.
  • The Storage Key field on the Album Edit form and the Play Log quick-edit now default to the last value entered. On the Edit form, the field pre-fills when empty; on the Play Log, opening the quick-edit or the Refile panel pre-fills the last confirmed location. Any confirmed save — edit form submit, quick-edit save, or refile — updates the remembered value.
  • Storage Key fields on the Album Edit form and Play Log now suggest matching locations as you type. An autocomplete list appears from the first character, drawing from locations already assigned across your collection.
  • The Relaxed Sessions count on Album Edit and the Play Log quick-edit now increments automatically when a new Last Relaxed date is recorded. The count was previously manual-only; recording a fresh date now adds one session without needing to adjust the field by hand. Historical albums with a Relaxed date but a zero session count are corrected to one on this update.
  • Discogs Add Album search now returns vinyl records only. DVD and Blu-ray releases were appearing in results; they are now excluded at the search stage.
  • Newly added albums are now flagged for both Restore (in the Play Log) and Cleaning (in the Albums list) automatically. Previously, the Cleaning flag was conditional on a user preference and could be absent even when the Restore flag was set. Both flags are now set together so the album appears in the Albums Cleaning queue from the moment it is added.
  • The Flag for Restore checkbox in Play Log now clears after the first play is logged, provided the user has not ticked it for that play. The flag is still raised automatically when 10 plays have elapsed since the last record restore, and can be set manually at any time. Once cleared, it does not reappear on its own — the Cleaning badge in the Albums list continues to mark the album until it is cleaned.
  • The storage location cascade on the Album edit form and the Refile panel now remembers the last location you confirmed. A ↩ button appears when the cascade is empty — clicking it pre-fills all three levels in one step, so returning an album to a familiar shelf position requires no re-selection.
  • The Cleaning Order header and count now correctly distinguish between albums and discs. For multi-disc albums the total shows both figures (e.g. 5 discs, 3 albums); for single-disc collections it shows albums only. The order has always been priced per disc — the display now makes that clear.
  • A new prompt on the Cleaning Order form asks whether you need specialist record mailer packaging forwarded to your address before shipping to SCA. If ticked, the order email sent to SCA includes a clear note so the right materials can be arranged.
  • The Collection export on the Dashboard Exports card has been renamed Collection Backup to reflect what it actually produces — a structured file intended for re-import via the Collection Import screen, not a flat spreadsheet. A new Albums (CSV) export is now available alongside it, producing a spreadsheet-friendly file with one row per album covering all core album fields.
  • Play counts on jukebox-played albums now reflect the jukebox wear multiplier consistently across the app. Some paths that recalculate the needs-treatment threshold — including album edits, treatment recording, play deletions, and album merges — previously applied no jukebox weighting or an incorrect value. All calculation paths now use the same 2× multiplier, so the treatment flag is accurate regardless of which screen last touched the album.
  • If a dealer has set up a dedicated cleaning service email address in their portal, record cleaning orders from their customers are now sent to that address rather than their general contact email. This keeps cleaning enquiries in a separate inbox without requiring a separate account.
  • Connecting an album to Discogs via the Add for Cleaning flow no longer causes a server error when Discogs is slow to respond. The connection timeout is now handled gracefully, and the page shows a clear prompt to try again rather than a generic error page.
  • The Discogs bulk enrichment run now distinguishes between a temporary connection problem and a persistent failure. On a connection timeout, it waits 30 seconds and retries automatically up to three times before pausing. If it does pause, a Try Again button appears — no page refresh needed to continue.
  • The Cleaning Order page now shows a helpful prompt when nothing is queued. Two options are offered: Add for Cleaning (scan or search to flag individual records) and Select from Collection (browse the full collection and tick multiple records at once). The Select from Collection page is also accessible from the Cleaning menu on the Album listing.
  • The Last Record Restore date on each album is no longer set at the moment a cleaning order is submitted. It will be recorded when SCA marks the Shopify job as fulfilled — the date the cleaning actually happened, not the date the order was placed. Play counters still reset at submission, as the records leave the shelf from that point.
  • The cleaning order email sent to SCA now includes a prominent VRT order reference number. SCA should add this number to the Shopify order note when raising the job — it is what links the Shopify fulfilment back to your VRT records.
  • Records manually flagged for cleaning now appear on the Record Care Report, not just the Cleaning Order. Previously the Report only picked up albums flagged by a service event or the 10-play threshold.
  • Jukebox is now a supported deck type. Select Jukebox when adding a turntable to tell VRT it is a jukebox unit. The Play Log automatically filters the album picker to 7" / 45 RPM records when a jukebox is selected, and does not advance to Side 2 after logging — jukeboxes play one side at a time. Play counts against records played on a jukebox apply a 2× cleaning weight, reflecting the higher tracking force typical of ceramic jukebox styli.
  • Albums can now be assigned a jukebox slot (e.g. A3, B12). The Slot field appears on the album edit form for any user who has a jukebox in their equipment list.
  • The Cleaning menu on the Album listing now shows a brief description under each option. Cleaning Order and Print Report are hidden when the collection is empty — those options are relevant only once albums have been added.

  • Cleaning orders sent to SCA are now reliably delivered. A compatibility issue with the hosting server prevented emails from being dispatched; the mail send has been updated to use a mechanism known to work on this server.
  • Submitting a cleaning order now correctly clears the cleaning flag on all included albums, so they no longer reappear on the cleaning order page after an order has been placed.
  • The Protective Sleeve card now lets you record when an outer sleeve has been fitted. Once a complete VSS recommendation is shown, a Mark as sleeved today button appears — clicking it records the product and today's date. A green Outer Sleeve Fitted badge is shown on all subsequent visits, with the product and date editable or clearable at any time.
  • The VSS Order Report now includes Shopify SKU codes in the printed order summary, making it easier to key an order into the SCA online store. Toggle All and Print / Save order are fixed — both were silently broken in recent releases.
  • The Protective Sleeve card labels are clarified: the jacket style selector is now labelled Album Jacket Style, and the recommendation is labelled VSS Recommendation for this album.
  • The Dashboard is reorganised: Record Restore and Predictive Plus cards appear above 10 Most Played, putting maintenance and care information at the top where it is most actionable.
  • The Album Details form is reorganised into six labelled groups — Identity, Acquisition, Condition & Assessment, Classification, Activity, and Digitisation — making it easier to navigate and locate specific fields on long albums.
  • Discover — a new button on the Album listing opens a random selection of albums you haven't played in a while, or ever. Filter by decade and genre, choose between "Never played" and "Not played recently" modes, and shuffle for a fresh set. Storage location is shown on each card.
  • Cleaning orders are now recorded when sent. Every album included in a cleaning order is automatically marked as Record Restored on that date, resetting its play count since last restore and clearing treatment flags — no manual follow-up required.
  • The Album listing action bar is reorganised: cleaning-related actions (Cleaning Order, Print Report, Add for Cleaning) are grouped under a single Cleaning button, and import actions (Import Discogs, Enrich with Discogs, Import Discographics, Import CSV) are grouped under Import.
  • Tonearm setup now includes Pivot to Spindle (mm), Effective Length (mm), Effective Mass (g), and Alignment Geometry (Baerwald, Lofgren, or Stevenson).
  • Cartridge setup now includes Compliance (µm/mN) and Weight (g).
  • Side play times now accept fractional minute values. Previously, entering a value below one minute (such as 0.1) was rejected by the form.
  • Enrich with Discogs — batch-match albums added by CSV import or entered by hand against the Discogs database. High-confidence matches link automatically; lower-confidence candidates are queued in a review panel where you confirm or reject each one. Accepting a match fills empty fields from Discogs (release year, label, catalogue number, format, genre, pressing country) by default — fields you already have data for show a per-field overwrite option. Available on Core and Pro licences.
  • A personal Discogs token is now required to use all Discogs features in VRT. Tokens are free and created in your Discogs account settings — each user's token provides a dedicated request allowance, independent of other users.
  • Verify with Discogs has been removed from the Play Log. Discogs linking is handled from the album detail page and via Enrich with Discogs.
  • VRT now records how many times each album has been relaxed. Existing records are backfilled where a relaxation date was already stored.

  • DJ Turntable is now a first-class deck type. The integrated tonearm is treated as non-removable by default (matching how Technics-style decks work) while the cartridge remains fully trackable and swappable — capturing real DJ wear patterns. Use Category and Playback Role on cartridges both gain a DJ option, and the Installed On Tonearm picker automatically filters to DJ Turntable tonearms when DJ is selected, showing the parent deck name alongside each tonearm to make assignment unambiguous.
  • Cartridges now record Manufacturer and Model separately from the display Name, consistent with Turntables and Tonearms.
  • Sets now supports dual-deck DJ performance. Choose a Deck A and Deck B turntable when creating a set, and assign each track to its deck with a single tap — or annotate a printed setlist and fill in the choices later. Stylus wear is attributed automatically to the Deck A cartridge when the set is marked as played.
  • Cleaning Orders can now be submitted directly from VRT. Click Send to SCA on the order form, review the summary, and the order is emailed to Secret Chord with you CC'd — no printing or manual emailing required. All cleaning flags are cleared automatically once the order is sent. The printed form gains an SCA Order No. field for SCA to complete when raising the Shopify order, and a Return Postal Address field at the bottom so new customers can supply their address for return shipping and account setup in one step.
  • A new Merge Albums tool handles accidentally duplicated entries. VRT automatically surfaces likely duplicates — albums sharing a Discogs release ID appear with high confidence, while albums matching on artist and title are flagged as possible. A side-by-side field comparison shows every detail for both entries; choose which to keep and VRT consolidates the complete play history, Record Restore treatments, cleaning events, and playlist memberships into the surviving record, then recalculates all play counters from the merged data.

  • The Record Care Report now distinguishes between albums you have manually flagged for Record Restore treatment and those that have reached the 10-play threshold automatically. Manually flagged albums show the familiar pink Treatment Due badge; albums that have crossed the play-count threshold show a solid deep red badge, so records that have quietly accumulated enough plays to need attention are immediately visible at a glance.
  • Add records to your cleaning batch straight from the shelf. The new "Add for Cleaning" workflow — available from the Albums page or on first sign-in — lets you scan a barcode or search Discogs, confirm the pressing from label images and matrix identifiers, and save the album pre-flagged for cleaning with full release details recorded automatically.
  • What's New now groups releases by version family and shows a nav badge for the number of families with unseen updates.

  • Dealer stock management gains batch and print tools. Add multiple albums to inventory in one action, then select any combination of items and print precision-aligned QR labels on standard Avery sheets — two label sizes are available to suit different shelving. Engagement reminder emails now include a one-click unsubscribe link.

  • The public stock QR page now shows each record's full care history, date acquired, and Discogs market value — giving prospective buyers meaningful information at point of sale. Album and dealer notes appear alongside the standard listing details.
  • Play log entries can now be edited or deleted after saving. Albums with a Discogs ID open the Verify panel already matched to the correct release, skipping the search step. A timezone setting in Account Settings ensures the Play Log always defaults to your local date.

  • Generate a shareable Vinyl Provenance Record for any album — a public link showing its full play and care history, ideal for sale listings or to include in a sleeve. No login required for the viewer.
  • Log plays for visiting records — albums you're playing but don't own — so stylus wear is tracked accurately regardless. Cleaning history is now logged per album, with date, service level, and provider recorded for each event.
  • What's New tracks which releases you've seen, with a nav badge showing how many updates have landed since your last visit.

  • Cleaning orders are now more precise. Flag individual discs for treatment on multi-disc albums, pre-authorise warp flattening without a separate approval step, and specify label application preferences. The order PDF uses real disc side identifiers from Discogs rather than generic disc numbers.

  • Import your entire Discogs collection into VRT in one step — albums already in your collection are skipped automatically, with an optional filter to exclude non-vinyl formats.
  • Pro: refresh Discogs market valuations for the whole collection at once. Numbered pressings now have a dedicated edition number field. The free Pro Trial was extended to 90 days. Sets can be duplicated and reused on a different night, and printed as a clean setlist.

  • The Record Cleaning Order is now generated directly from VRT — a printable form pre-populated with all records flagged for cleaning, with a service selector and comments field for each record.
  • Flag any album for cleaning from the Albums listing with a single click. Discogs pressing confirmation now shows label scan images so you can visually confirm the exact pressing before importing.

  • The Setup Wizard guides new users through equipment configuration on first sign-in. A session heartbeat keeps VRT active while you listen; if the session expires, a clear prompt appears rather than a silent redirect.
  • Collection Valuation (Pro): Discogs market pricing — Low, Mid, and High — stored per album and auto-fetched when a Discogs ID is linked. German translation is now complete across all VRT screens. Pre-VRT stylus wear estimates apply a realistic wear factor reflecting the condition of records played before you started tracking.

  • Albums now record condition grading, personal star ratings, pressing country, matrix number, and loan details including borrower name and contact. The Play Log search field accepts matrix codes and dead wax etchings, with a close-up viewfinder for reading run-out groove text.
  • The Record Cleaning Service lets you track sides played, flag records when cleaning is due, build a batch, and dispatch to SCA in one step — resetting each album's counter automatically.
  • Pro: build a set list from your collection and run through it on the Play Log, advancing to the next record automatically after each save. Predictive Plus forecasts now support a 60, 90, or 180-day lookback window.

  • Album storage locations now support a user-defined hierarchy of up to four levels — define your own level labels (Room, Cabinet, Column, Shelf, for example), stick QR code labels to shelves or boxes, and scan them to fill the location field instantly. The Albums filter shows cascading dropdowns when level labels are configured.
  • Registration no longer requires an activation key — a Limited licence is granted immediately on sign-up, with automatic dealer attribution when registering via a referral link or QR code.
  • Discogs: connect your own account for improved rate limits; barcode scanning checks your collection first, then Discogs. Date fields use DD/MM/YYYY format across all devices. The Play Log opens on your default turntable and carries equipment selection forward between sessions.
